This BMW needed a full windshield replacement at our Bremerton shop after something smashed the glass right across the driver’s view. In fact, the damage was bad enough that driving the car was no longer safe. So our team got to work, and the customer drove away the same day with clear, safe glass.
Too far gone for a repair
First, we looked over the damage. It had multiple impact points, and the cracks ran straight across the driver’s line of sight. A chip repair simply can’t fix glass in this condition. Instead, the only safe answer was a full windshield replacement, so that’s exactly what we did.
In addition, your windshield does more than keep out wind and rain. It also supports the roof in a rollover and helps the passenger airbag deploy correctly. For that reason, the Auto Glass Safety Council sets standards for how technicians should install it.
Out with the shattered glass
Next, our technicians carefully cut out the damaged windshield and lifted it away. Meanwhile, they kept broken glass away from the interior and the paint.
In with the new windshield
After that, we cleaned and prepared the opening. Then two technicians set the new windshield in place together to get a proper, even fit.
Back on the road
Finally, the customer drove off with a clear windshield and a safe car. Above all, helping someone out of a tough spot like this is the best part of what we do.
